Beginner’s Ashtanga Yoga Course with Claire starts 8th Jan!
Ashtanga is a style of yoga that although seems quite daunting at first glance is actually accessible for every BODY.
To explore this physical practice join Claire with her four week course designed for Ashtanga beginners / those more experienced who wish to delve deeper into the postures.
The course is fun & super informative with a workshop vibe to really break down and tackle those Asanas.
Week 1 Surya Namaskar –
A fun lesson introducing breath and bandhas. We will be looking into transitions & alignment for all abilities using props where needed to help us reach our full potential.
Week 2 – Standing Postures.
A recap on week one, then focussing on our alignment & dhristi, using blocks, straps, walls & the floor to work deeper into the postures, strengthening core & working on balance.
Week 3 – Seated postures & closing sequence.
After warming up through our salutations, & touching briefly on a few standing postures – The main focus will be working in to our seated forward folds & introducing binding. We will look at the foundations of a headstand. If you’re feeling brave we can take the plunge & look at the world from a different perspective!
Week 4 – Bringing it all together .
This lesson will take slightly longer as we revisit our postures, combining our breath, bandhas & dhristi.
